Flirt Pole

As the owner of two hyperactive pit bull dogs, I'm always looking for ways to keep them well exercised. My busy schedule doesn't allow for the multiple hours of walking per day advised by professional dog behaviorists.

I read about flirt poles online and thought it would be worth trying out. I bought one of the fiberglass rod flirt poles, which is basically just a horse lunge whip. The good news is the dogs went crazy chasing the lure. The bad news is that it lasted one day. One chomp on the tip of the rod and the fiberglass broke and splintered in my dog's mouth. I was not happy.

Sure, it is easy to make a simple DIY flirt pole following instructions online. But I didn't want a simple flirt pole, I wanted the best flirt pole possible. So I made our Flirt Pole, which I truly believe is the ultimate dog exercise toy for busy people. It converts the natural prey drive instinct in dogs into great exercise as they attempt to catch the lure by sprinting, changing direction, and jumping. Here are some features that make our Flirt Pole the best:

  • Unique Patent Pending design.
  • Flexible, durable shaft will never snap and splinter like comparable fiberglass toys.
  • Foam rubber non-slip grip for easy handling.
  • Super strong "marine grade" bungee cord prevents "whiplash" when toy is caught.
  • Safety wrist strap prevents accidentally losing hold of the pole while the bungee cord is stretched.
  • Special knot holds toy securely, yet allows changing toys in seconds without the use of fasteners that can injure your dog's mouth.
  • Light-weight. The Flirt Pole with the included lure toy weighs less than one pound.
  • Perfect for people with limited mobility.
  • Can be used with dogs of any size.
  • A 10 minute workout with the Flirt Pole is comparable exercise to a one hour walk for your dog.
  • Also works great as a training tool and provides the mental exercise dogs need at the same time they are getting physical exercise.

The Flirt Pole has a 97cm pole section and the cord extends approximately 130cm from the tip of the pole and includes Fleece Toss lure pre-attached.

Also available without a lure attached if you would like to use your own.

This is by-far the best toy we have ever bought for our dog. It’s so good that I bought a replacement as soon as the first one broke (from lots of use). It takes just 20 minutes with the flirt pole and our dog has had better exercise than an hour’s walk. She loves it and we love giving her the enjoyment.

Had it one week, now have a happy dog, who loves it. It's surviving his teeth, I'm not getting injured, he's safe. Lots of exercise and the training benefits have been a game changer. Overall the single best toy purchase I've made!

Awesome

Great flirt pole - just the right amount of spring for a great play - super tough and I don't have to worry about my dog getting whiplash from a grab if they come at it with speed

Great Exerciser

This is a great tool for exercising and for dogs to learn to release things on command (start with food bribes if you need to). I found the rope a bit long but a few knots fixed that. Overall very happy with product and tough enough to withstand my American Bulldog's enthusiasm.

My pup loves it

My dog isn't much of a fetcher, more of a "toy run away with" dog. This let's us play a game of keep-away that doesn't completely exhaust me and can go for a lot longer at a much faster place. Only thing is my neighbours might not be a fan of the hilarious gulping noises she makes every other lunge. Definitely have a tired pup at the end of the day.

Finally He Plays...

My pup is not one for playing, he normally just sits there and stares at me when i throw balls and fluffy toys at him but he goes crazy for this! Love it - thank you!
